MoHP to implement health plan
KATHMANDU: Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) is implementing the National Health Sector Programme Implementation Plan-II (NHSP IP-II) effective from July this year for the next five years — 2010-2015.
The final draft of NHSP IP-II mentions that the plan was designed to improve the health and nutritional status of the Nepali population, especially the poor and excluded.
As per the plan, the government will contribute to poverty reduction by providing equal opportunity for all to receive high-quality and affordable health care services.
According to the draft, the major objectives of the plan include, increasing access to and utilisation of quality essential health care service, reducing cultural and economic barriers to access to health services, reducing harmful cultural practices in partnership with non-state actors and improving health system to achieve universal coverage of essential health services.
NHSP IP-II aims to meet the unmet demands of the general public and offers Voluntary Surgical Contraception (VSC) throughout year and integrated family planning advice.
