2 killed as diarrhea rages in Nepalgunj
NEPALGUNJ: Diarrhea has been spreading in urban areas of Nepalgunj that were inundated by heavy rainfall a few days ago, affecting hundreds of people.
According to the Public Health Office, Banke, people of Ward No 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 14 and 17 are most affected. As a result, the Bheri Zonal Hospital as well as Nepalgunj and Kohalpur Teaching Hospitals are receiving increasing number of patients.
Last night, two diarrhea patients -- Kalauti Budhathoki, 65 of Dang's Tulsipur and Jaswin Halwai 5 of Nepalgunj Municipality-7 -- succumbed to the disease at Nepalgunj Teaching Hospital, the health office said.
Thirty-six diarrhea patients are said to be undergoing treatment at the zonal hospital and 158 at the Nepalgunj hospital.
